EcoMENA is an initiative launched by two dynamic entrepreneurs – Mohammed Abdulaziz Khalil from Qatar and Salman Zafar from India – to promote eco-friendly socio-economic development in MENA region. Our primary mission is to foster sustainable waste management and renewable energy initiatives by dissemination of information and strategic guidance to entrepreneurs, policy-makers, investors, researchers and general public.
Mohammed Abdulaziz Khalil is senior business development executive, an entrepreneur and business consultant. He has more than 17 years of experience across a wide range of sectors including industrial, IT, banking and real-estate at regional and international levels. He has founded and managed several initiatives in the industrial, education and real estate sectors. Mohammed has an Executive Entrepreneurship Certificate from Carnegie Million University, Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from New Mexico State University (USA) and Management Certificate from Centennial College (Canada). Mohammed currently manages and sits on the board of many companies including First Education Holdings, Tatweer Infrastructure Company, Tassnee Petrochemical Company and QVICORP. Salman Zafar is a Cleantech Entrepreneur, Advisor, Speaker and Writer with Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University (India). He is proactive in creating mass awareness on renewable energy technologies and waste management systems and fostering sustainable development initiatives worldwide. Salman is associated with several international organizations, and has successfully accomplished a wide range of cleantech projects in the areas of biogas technology, biomass utilization, waste-to-energy and solid waste management. He has participated in numerous national and international conferences as a keynote speaker, session chair, invited speaker, panelist, roundtable moderator etc. Salman is a prolific writer and has authored more than 55 articles in reputed journals, magazines, newsletters and blogs on renewable energy and environmental issues.
